The Democratic Party has always been more reluctant to accept that thesis than the Republican Party. In recent years, that opposition has become tougher. So one would think that both for purely political reasons – to please the left wing of the Democratic Party – and for ideological principles – that opposition to the control of big business – Biden will not pass up the opportunity to trim the quasi-monopolies of the Internet giants.

China | What is the implication of RCEP to Chinese and regional economy?

On November 15th, Asia Pacific nations including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand plus 10 countries of ASEAN signed the world’s largest regional free-trade agreement which is the so-called Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership or RCEP, with the member countries encompassing 2.2 billion people that is nearly a third of the world’s population and USD 26.2 trillion GDP as around 1/3 of the world GDP as well as 1/3 of world’s total trade volume. Top officials from 15 nations inked the RCEP nearly a decade in the making on the final day of the 37th ASEAN Summit hosted virtually by Vietnam this year. The completion of negotiations is a strong message affirming China, Eastern Asia and ASEAN’s role in supporting the multilateral trade system. In addition, the agreement will contribute to developing supply chains that have been disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the China-US decoupling, as well as supporting the regional and world economic recovery. Obviously, the signing of RCEP which has experienced eight years of negotiations among member countries has essential implications on Chinese and regional economy…

Brazil–Less Significant Economic Contraction Than Originally Expected

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has put an end to the modest economic rebound since 2017. The recovery followed Brazil’s longest and deepest recession in 2014-2016, when GDP shrank by almost 9%. However, Brazil’s less stringent containment measures and stronger fiscal support have led to smaller output losses compared to most other countries in the region. In 2020 GDP is expected to contract by 4.6% (an upward revision from the 6.2% contraction expected in August). Business confidence has rebounded since June.

Biden Overtakes Trump In Georgia and Pennsylvania; Within Touching Distance Of The Presidency

Democrat candidate Joe Biden has overtaken President Donald Trump in the race for the state of Georgia, one of six still to be decided since Tuesday’s U.S. elections. According to the main media outlets, the former vice president’s lead over Trump is now just 917 votes, with 99 percent of the count completed. As it stands, Biden would have gathered 49.39 percent of the vote and the Republican candidate 49.37 percent. Currently, the Democrat candidate has 253 votes.
